Studio Veteran Teaches the Business of Television

As an instructor in the UCLA Anderson Center for MEMES’ Business of Media, Entertainment and Sports Summer Institute, television studio veteran and Anderson adjunct professor Edward Sabin ( ’88, ’91) imparts his decades of knowledge about running a media company. His course, The Business of Television, reviews the foundational elements of the television ecosystem, how they interact and how the digital-centric competition for viewers’ attention is causing seismic changes in the business.

As a preview of what students can expect to learn in the Summer Institute, Sabin engaged in conversation with with Lisa Holme, group senior vice president of content and commercial strategy for Discovery Inc. Holme’s career journey in entertainment includes the recent development and roll-out of Discovery+.
